“My paintings serve as a form of propagation. They take a piece of the whole, planting, nurturing, and duplicating the essence of my surroundings. The weave of the fabric symbolizes my integration with nature and highlights the interconnectedness we share with our environment. I use fabric to depict the delicate balance that exists in nature and in our everyday lives. The dynamic colors found in nature command my attention and are represented in subtle glimpses within the canvas. By upcycling water from pigment leftover in paint buckets, I dye the fabric and apply it as a collage. This process creates a sense of being—sitting in a space I nurture while it, in turn, nurtures me. This relationship serves as a reminder of the poetic balance that life on the farm has instilled in my approach to art. As the paintings float delicately, they sway and croon, inviting viewers to resonate with their surroundings and reflect on their own experiences of beauty shared with nature. These works embody the intricate interplay among land formations, climatic patterns, efforts in wilderness conservation, and the sobering realities of environmental decline.
As viewers engage with my paintings, they are invited to embark on a journey of exploration and discovery—to contemplate the interconnectedness of all life on Earth and the profound impact of our actions on the world around us.”
